about
Red Mecca about their new single and UK collaboration:
There has always been an urge for us to never get caught inside borders regarding creating music. We´re not a "synth band" in a traditional way. We´re just using synths and machines in creation. With the new single Into Prayer we´re cooperating with Kym Smith AKA KMRS, a British rapper and sound engineer. She grew up in London and Surrey and has been creating music from the age of 13 and is currently working on a 5th album. Adding a new energy and even darkness in a beautiful harsh and surprising way. A track compact and heavy but yet sparkling with a brittle touch. And a track you very well could dance to.

Burning
Burning
Burning
Burning
Burning alive forced towards success,
Sure the future for certain is mine,
If I think stop I'm done close the curtain I'm,
Thrown back by a surface of light,
Sounds not absorbing yet I’m forced to reflect,
I'm from a place where you're never proud of shit,
See me, I've never been the proudest kid,
The current town I’m in holds you down a bit,
I look back and I'm kinda proud they did,
I knew one day I was bound to flip,
Why not I grew up around the shit,
Never thought my life would amount to shit,
In the same fucking chair like I’m bound to it,
Reflections ain't down for it,
Everyone who never meant to but helped me,
Bell me, tell me, if you’re mad you did see,
I watch the rain as it starts to spit,
arms and wrists,
Scarred the skin
Is remind me that I’ve done darker things,
I can’t tell a soul, so my past is hid,
Can't let go, I can't forgive,
I was selfish, heartless, now you know it,
I was a bastard and most laugh at me,
I only tell you through my art in a bar coz,
I'm grown and come far from the days in the park,
I shouldn't have to ask to be judged on my present,
Don't say you know how hard it is, you don’t know the half of it.
If I think stop I'm done close the curtain I'm,
Thrown back by a surface of light,
Sounds not absorbing yet I’m forced to reflect,
I'm from a place where you're never proud of shit,
See me, I've never been the proudest kid,
The current town I’m in holds you down a bit,
I look back and I'm kinda proud they did,
I knew one day I was bound to flip,
Why not I grew up around the shit,
Never thought my life would amount to shit,
Close the curtain I'm,
Thrown back by a surface of light,
Sounds not absorbing yet I’m forced to reflect,
I'm from a place where you're never proud of shit,
See me, I've never been the proudest kid,
The current town I’m in
remind me that I’ve done darker things,
I can’t tell a soul, so my past is hid,
Can't let go, I can't forgive.

Susanne Jonsson and Jan Strandqvist is Red Mecca. Two creative souls found a common playground for their ideas. Jan has a
background in one of Sweden’s most influential punk/post-punk band – Brända Barn – and the meeting of his rough background with the vocals of Susanne creates fantastic musical landscapes....more

Bandcamp is my favorite app. Without Bandcamp I would missed out on a lot of great music like Empathy Test! A wonderful album. Occasionally bombastic with nice synths and the voice of Isaac Howlett on top. Well done guys💪🏽 Fredschuit
On their 10th record, the Glasgow-based group serves up more wonderfully menacing, gothy synthpop, perfect for dungeon dancing. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 19, 2023

Ladytron’s last album was a cybergothic masterpiece. Time's Arrow doesn't quite have that dark compelling thread, but there are some fine tracks and superb production. Poodlepop
