Red Mecca has a name for its music that exquisitely sums up the expression that the northern Swedish duo have traveled through three albums, and here it reaches its most precise form so far.
Frida Madeleine and Jan Strandqvist makes the new album in an special atmosphere, a kind of reconciliation of what Joy Division performed on the classic album Closer. Even graphically, the album is a subtle nod to what happened to Factory Records in the 1980s. It's no coincidence that the album is released May 18th on the day 38 years after the suicide of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis.

"Pretentiously, maybe, but in a good way," says Red Mecca, and continues: "Comparison with Closer is perhaps superficial, but we mean we have found our own progressive and challenging darkness. But without copying Joy Division. We are something else. "
